Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, held a simple, low-profile wedding ceremony without even a cake at his Palo Alto, California, home and invited less than a 100 guests, who thought they would be attending Chan's graduation party. The wedding came two days after Facebook's initial public offering. It was unclear whether the couple had a prenuptial agreement. The couple honeymooned in Italy, flying in on a private jet and staying at Portrait Suites, a luxurious hotel.

Giving Profile: In his first act of large-scale philanthropy, Zuckerberg donated $100 million worth of his Facebook shares to the Newark, New Jersey public school system in September 2010. To announce the gift, he appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show. In December 2012 Zuckerberg donated $500 million worth of his Facebook shares to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Zuckerberg has also joined Warren Buffett's Giving Pledge, agreeing to donate 50% of his fortune to charitable causes. Zuckerberg with his wife, Priscilla, and three other billionaires - Yuri Milner, Sergey Brin and Anne Wojcicki - reportedly donated $33 million to 11 biotech inventors on 20 February 2013. In May 2014, Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan reportedly donated $120 million to improve schools in the San Francisco Bay area, California. In October 2014, Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla donated $25 million to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Foundation to help fight Ebola. The grant was given through their Silicon Valley Community Foundation. In June 2015, the couple reportedly donated $5 million to help undocumented immigrants attend college in the U.S. In November 2015, the couple pledged $20 million to the nonprofit organization EducationSuperHighway to support an initiative to bring speedy Internet to all U.S. schools and to encourage personalized learning.
