According to an October 2015 article in the 'Hollywood Reporter', Laurene Powell Jobs pressured every studio in that movie capital, and high-profile actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale, not to make a film based on Walter Isaacson's biography of her late husband. Attempts to complete the project - which acknowledges Steve Jobs' brilliance while painting an unflattering portrait of his personal relationships - were "actively obstructed" by Laurene Jobs and Apple CEO Tim Cook, according to the director, Danny Boyle. The film was eventually produced, with distribution by Universal Pictures. It starred Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs and premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on September 5, 2015.Contact us to see more Interesting Facts

College Track, which Jobs established in 1997, helps prepare low-income students from underserved communities for college, providing them with rigorous academic training and extracurricular activities. The program, which operates in a number of locations including East Palo Alto, California, and New Orleans, Louisiana, has trained more than 1,400 students and sent 90% of them to college. The Emerson Collective, which she also helped establish, is structured like a small business and set up as a limited liability corporation rather than a traditional tax-exempt nonprofit, allowing it to make grants, investments and political donations without being required to publicly report its activities. Laurene Powell Jobs and her late husband, Steve Jobs, have reportedly donated millions of dollars anonymously to various charities and hospitals in California, and funded HIV and AIDS research. She reportedly continues to donate anonymously. In September 2015, she committed, through the Emerson Collective, $50 million to the XQ Institute to start XQ: The Super School Project, a campaign to redefine education in the U.S. and to build new schools based on the ideas developed by selected teams of educators, students, business leaders and entrepreneurs.Contact us to see more Philanthropy
